Effect of Cloteprednol combined with artificial tears on factors related to Toll like receptor-nuclear factor κB signaling pathway in patients with dry eye after cataract surgery
Objective To analyze the effect of Cloteprednol combined with artificial tears on factors related to Toll like re-ceptor(TLR)-nuclear factor κB(NF-κB)signaling pathway in patients with dry eye after cataract surgery. Methods The clinical data of 110 patients with dry eye syndrome after cataract surgery admitted to Ganzhou Qi Ming Xing Ophthalmic Hospital from December 2020 to December 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to the different treatment meth-ods,they were divided into control group(n=55)and experimental group(n=55).The control group was treated with artificial tears, and the experimental group was treated with Cloteprednol combined with artificial tears. The total effective rate, corneal fluorescein staining(FL)score,National Eye Institute visual function questionnaire(NEI-VFQ-25)score,tear tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-1 β(IL-1 β)levels, and serum TLR4 and NF-κB levels were compared be-tween the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the control group and the experimental group was 74.55%and 90.91%,respectively.The total effective rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the FL scores in two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the FL score in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group, and the differences were sta-tistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of TNF-α and IL-1β in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the levels of TNF-α and IL-1 β in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of TLR4 and NF-κB in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the levels of TLR4 and NF-κB in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of quality of life in the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the scores of quality of life in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Cloteprednol combined with artificial tears can effectively improve the stability of tear film and improve the quality of life of patients with dry eye after cataract surgery, which is related to the treatment of Cloteprednol combined with artificial tears by mediating TLR-NF-κB signaling pathway to reduce ocular surface inflammation, and can be widely used.
