Expression and clinical value of IL-6,STAT3,IFN-γ in peripheral blood in patients with ovarian cancer
Objective To investigate the expression and clinical value of interleukin-6(IL-6),signal transducer and acti-vator of transcription 3(STAT3),interferon-γ(IFN-γ)in peripheral blood of ovarian cancer patients. Methods A total of 85 patients with ovarian cancer who underwent surgical resection from Jiujiang Third People's Hospital from March 2020 to April 2022 were selected as the ovarian cancer group, and 35 patients with benign ovarian tumors who underwent surgical resection during the same period were selected as the benign control group. The expression of IL-6,STAT3 and IFN-γ in ovarian tissue of the two groups were detected. The relationship between the expression levels and clinicopathological pa-rameters were analyzed. Results The positive expression rate of IL-6 was 82.35%,the positive expression rate of STAT3 was 84.71%,and the positive expression rate of IFN-γ was 88.24%.Univariate analysis showed that the expression of IL-6,STAT3 and IFN-γ in peripheral blood were associated with FIGO stage, differentiation degree, lymph node metastasis and ascites of ovarian cancer, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The 1-year survival rate of IL-6,STAT3 and IFN-γ positive patients were lower than those of negative patients, and the differences were statistically signifi-cant(P<0.05).COX analysis showed that FIGO stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ,low differentiation, lymph node metastasis and positive ex-pression of IL-6,STAT3 and IFN-γ were independent risk factors for death in patients with ovarian cancer(P<0.05).Conclusion The high expression of IL-6,STAT3 and IFN-γ in patients with ovarian cancer are associated with poor prog-nosis,suggesting that they may be involved in the occurrence, development and metastasis of ovarian cancer.
