Objective To investigate the correlation and clinical value of systemic inflammatory response index(SIRI)and brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity(BaPWV).Methods From January 201 8 to December 2019,clinical data from a total of 212 volunteers in the natural population of Eastern Fujian were collected using stratified random sampling.The data includ-ed baseline characteristics,fasting blood tests for complete blood count and blood biochemistry,as well as BaPWV measure-ments.Based on a cutoff value of 1 400 m/s for BaPWV,the volunteers were divided into normal and elevated BaPWV groups.Data from the two groups were analyzed through univariate analysis and Pearson test.Variables with statistically sig-nificant differences were included in multivariate logistic regression analysis to evaluate the correlation between SIRI and BaPWV,and the influencing factors of BaPWV were analyzed.Results The age,hypertension,smoking status,systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure,total cholesterol,triglycerides,low density lipoprotein,white blood cells,neutrophil,fast-ing blood glucose,homocysteine and SIRI water in BaPWV increased group were higher than those in BaPWV normal group,with statistical significance(P<0.05).SIRI was positively correlated with BaPWV(r=0.357,P<0.001)The multivariate re-gression analysis revealed that age(β=0.110,OR=1.116,95%CI:1.069~1.165,P<0.001),systolic blood pressure(β=0.034,OR=1.034,95%CI:1.001~1.068,P=0.041),and diastolic blood pressure(β=0.083,OR=1.086,95%CI:1.033~1.142,P=0.001)were independent factors of BaPWV increase,but SIRI was not an independent factor of BaPWV in-crease.Conclusion SIRI may have a certain correlation with the development of arteriosclerosis,but it does not play a deci-sive role.Clinically,more attention should be paid to the independent influencing factors of BaPWV increase such as age,systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure,and corresponding intervention measures should be taken in time to better clinical management of arteriosclerosis risk.
