Analysis of the current status and influencing factors of malnutrition in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in stable stage
Objective To understand the current status of malnutrition in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pul-monary disease(COPD)in the stable stage and analyze its influencing factors. Methods Eighty-four patients with stable COPD who were rechecked at the outpatient clinic of the Jinhua Central Hospital from January 2022 to March 2023 were selected by convenience sampling method as study subjects, and were assessed using a general information questionnaire, the mini nutritional assessment short-form(MNA-SF),the Cardiovascular Health Study(CHS)frailty assessment scale, the 6-minute walk test(6MWT),COPD assessment test(CAT)and modified medical research council(mMRC)were investigat-ed.Results The prevalence of malnutrition risk in 84 elderly patients with stable COPD was 83.33%.Malnutrition was posi-tively correlated with frailty(P<0.01),and different body mass indexes(BMI)and frailty were influential factors in the risk of malnutrition in elderly patients with stable COPD(P<0.05),as shown by multiple linear regression analysis. Conclusion Elderly patients with stable COPD have a high prevalence of malnutrition risk.Healthcare professionals and family care-givers should pay attention to this issue and develop targeted intervention programs that combine the influencing factors to reduce the risk of malnutrition in elderly patients with stable COPD.
