Clinical effect of Sodium Valproate combined with Perampanel in the treatment of post-stroke epilepsy
Objective Investigate clinical effect of Sodium Valproate combined with Perampanel in the treatment of post-stroke epilepsy and its influence on inflammatory factors and cognitive function. Methods A total of eighty patients with post-stroke epilepsy admitted to the Department of Neurology,Hubei Provincial Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chi-nese and Western Medicine from January 2020 to February 2023,they were divided into the control group(40 cases)and the treatment group(40 cases)according to random number table method. The control group was treated with Sodium Valproate Sustained-Release Tablets, and the treatment group was and treated with Perampanel. The total effective rate of epilepsy control, the change of inflammatory factors and cognitive function indexes were compared between the two groups after 3 months treatment. Results After continuous treatment for 3 months, the total effective rate of epilepsy control in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of interleukin-1β(IL-1β),inter-leukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and phosphorylated tau-181 protein(P>0.05)in the two groups. After treatment, all the indexes of the two groups were lower than those of the same group before treatment, and the indexes of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no significant differences in the seizure frequency and single seizure duration be-tween the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the seizure frequency of the two groups were less than those of the same group before treatment, and the single seizure duration of the two groups were shorter than those of the same group before treatment and the seizure frenquency of the treatment group was less than that of the control group, the shgle seizure duration of the treatment group was shorter than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no significant differences in the assessment of daily living ability(ADL)and mini-mental state examination(MMSE)between the groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the scores of ADL and MMSE were higher than those of the same group before treatment, and the scores of ADL and MMSE of the treatment group were higher than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in adverse reaction rate between the two groups during treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion Sodium Valproate Sustained-Release Tablets com-bined with Perampanel in the treatment of post-stroke epilepsy can reduce inflammatory response, improve cognitive dys-function,increase seizure control rate, improve patients'quality of life and improve p-rognosis,and most of the adverse re-actions are mild and can be tolerated by patients with high safety.
