Effect of intermittent oro-esophageal tube feeding on stigma and aspira-tion pneumonia in post-stroke dysphagia patients
Objective To evaluate the effects of intermittent oro-esophageal tube feeding(IOE)on stigma and aspiration pneumonia(AP)in patients with post-stroke dysphagia(PSD).Methods From January 2021 to June 2023,a total of 52 stroke patients admitted to the First People's Hospital of Wuhu were selected as study objects.According to random number table method, the enrolled patients were divided into group IOE(26 cases)and group continuous nasogastric tube(CNG)(26 cases).Group IOE was fed with intermittent oral catheterization, group CNG was fed with indwelling gastric tube, and both groups received routine rehabilitation therapy at the same time. The score of stroke stigma scale(SSS)and the incidence of AP were compared between the two groups at 1 week after admission and 30 days after treatment. Results At 30 days after treatment,SSS scale score of IOE group was lower than that CNG group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),the incidence of AP in IOE group was lower than that CNG group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of IOE can effectively mitigate the stigma of stroke patients and contribute to a reduction in the occurrence of aspiration pneumonia during hospitalization.
