Objective To explore the clinical effect of umbilical needle therapy"right falling four needles"in acute suppu-rative tonsillitis.Methods A total of 80 patients with acute suppurative tonsillitis admitted to the Department of Emergency of the Third Affiliated People's Hospital of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2022 to May 2023 were selected as the study objects,and they were divided into control group(40 cases)and observation group(40 cases)according to random number table method.The control group was treated with Cefixime Capsules and Qingyan Dropping Pills,and the observation group was treated with Cefixime Capsules and Qingyan Dropping Pills combined with umbilical needle therapy.The clinical efficacy,recovery time of symptoms and signs,and inflammatory indicators(leukocytes,C-reactive protein,procalcitonin)were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The recovery time of symptoms and signs in observation group was shorter than that in control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of relevant inflammatory indicators in two groups were lower than those be-fore treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).There were no significant differences in the levels of inflammation indexes between the two groups after treatment(P＞0.05).Conclusion Umbilical needle therapy"right falling four needles"is effective in the treatment of acute suppurative tonsillitis.It can relieve the clinical symptoms of patients faster and reduce the inflammatory response effectively.It is worth promoting.
