Objective To explore the effect of immersive teaching in the training of hospice care practitioners. Methods A total of 48 practitioners who participated in hospice care training in Beijing Geriatric Hospital from May 2021 to November 2023 were selected as the study subjects and divided into the intervention group(n=24)and the control group(n=24)according to the lottery method. The control group was trained with traditional teaching mode, and the intervention group was trained with traditional teaching mode combined with immersive teaching mode. The comprehensive results(theoretical written test results and practical operation results)of the two groups of trainers were compared and the teaching effect was evaluated. Results After the intervention, the theoretical written test scores and practical operation scores of the trainees in the two groups were higher than before the intervention, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the practical performance of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in the theoretical written test score(P>0.05).The questionnaire survey of the intervention group showed that more than 87.5%of the trainers believed that immersive teaching mode could broaden their thinking, improve clinical diagnosis and treatment ability, improve situational response ability, improve clinical reasoning ability, and enhance doctor-patient communication ability. The trainers in the intervention group were superior to the control group in broadening their thinking, improving situational response ability, improving clinical reasoning ability and enhancing doctor-patient communication ability, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The satisfaction of the intervention group on the teaching mode(including teaching method, teaching attitude, teaching content arrangement, textbook preparation, teaching time arrangement and professional improvement)were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of immersive teaching mode in the training of hospice care practitioners can improve the operational ability of hospice care practitioners, broaden the clinical diagnosis and treatment ideas, enhance the doctor-patient communication ability, and improve the satisfaction of hospice practitioners, which is worth promoting.
