Cough variant asthma(CVA)is a special type of asthma with repeated chronic cough as the main clinical mani-festation,no obvious wheezing,shortness of breath,but airway hyperresponsiveness.Its incidence is generally affected by environmental,genetic,immune and other factors,with the improvement of economic level and the increasingly serious envi-ronmental pollution problem,the incidence of CVA in children only increased,has become a common disease in pediatric outpatient clinics.Pediatric CVA has the characteristics of long treatment period and high recurrence rate.Long-term large-scale use of western medicine treatment may cause certain drug resistance and toxic side effects,which not only affects the growth and development of children,but also brings heavy economic burden and psychological pressure to children and parents.In a large number of clinical practices,Professor Wang Yongji starting from the physiological and pathological char-acteristics of children,in clinical treatment,with the treatment principle of relieving spasm and cough,expelling phlegm and clearing the lung,has achieved significant clinical efficacy,and made up for the shortcomings of insufficient efficacy or great toxic side effects of western medicine.
