Objective:To investigate the detection rate of breast nodules,BI-RADS classification and related characteristics in a cohort of female medical examination participants.Methods:From all medical examination records in our center in 2022,we collected breast ultrasound examination results for 31 241 patients.The breast ultrasound examination results were integrated and field-extracted to analyze the BI-RADS classification of breast nodules,the location of single and bilateral,single and multiple occurrences,and the size and location.Results:The detection rate of breast nodules by ultrasound in women was 33.4%.The average age of women with nodules(45.7±14.9)years was higher than that of women without nodules(43.7±12.2)years(P<0.05).The average age of women at high risk of breast cancer was higher than that of women with benign breast disease.The detection rate of BI-RADS 4/5 was 2.9%.With increasing age,the proportion of BI-RADS 4/5 nodules gradually increased,especially at 50 years old,with a more significant increase.The distribution of single and bilateral breast nodules and the distribution of single and multiple occurrences were different in different BI-RADS classification(P<0.05).Compared with benign breast disease,the proportion of multiple occurrences in high-risk breast cancer nodules was relatively high.The longest diameter of BI-RADS 4/5 nodules was greater than that of BI-RADS 2/3 nodules(P<0.05).The distribution of benign breast disease and high-risk breast cancer was similar in each quadrant(P=0.420),mainly concentrated in the upper outer quadrant(40%-50%).For women with different BI-RADS grades of breast nodules,there were significant differences in levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,triglycerides,total cholesterol,blood glucose and blood pressure.Conclusion:There are differences in the distribution of breast nodules in different BI-RADS classification in terms of age,single and bilateral,single,multiple occurrences and size,blood lipids,blood glucose and blood pressure.The distribution of benign and malignant nodules is similar in each quadrant.It is important to pay attention to the classification of breast nodules and focus on early screening for malignancies to identify potential cases of significant diseases and high-risk states as soon as possible.
