Brown adipose tissue is a type of fat tissue with thermogenic function, and its potential role in metabolism and weight management has drawn widespread attention. The gold standard method for measuring brown adipose tissue is positron emission tomography-computed tomography, but it has drawbacks such as high cost,time-consuming,and high radiation exposure, limiting its extensive clinical and research application.Infrared thermography, which can display the activity of brown adipose tissue by measuring surface temperature, has gained attention and application in recent years as an alternative method. This review summarizes the application of infrared thermography in the detection of brown adipose tissue to demonstrate a new method that can be used for population screening, risk assessment, and efficacy monitoring in a rapid and radiation-free manner, providing a new perspective and tool for health examination and management.
