The Effects of Moral Self-Regulation on Prosocial Intention and Age Effect
Objective To study the effects of moral self -regulation on prosocial intentions and age effect .Methods A total of 139 middle school students and 77 college students were divided into three groups respectively .They recalled their recent concrete ( im) moral and unmoral behavior using different adjectives ,and then finished Prosocial Tendencies Measure ( PTM) .Results Adolescences who re-called their recent concrete immoral behavior reported greater prosocial intentions than individuals who recalled their recent concrete mor -al behavior and the matched group (F=220.3,P<0.01).Young adults who recalled their recent concrete immoral behavior and moral behavior reported greater prosocial intentions than the matched group (F=8.73,P<0.01).Conclusion Moral self-regulation can in-fluence prosocial intention;There is age difference in moral licensing effect.
