Analysis of the demand and influencing factors for mental health services among community residents in Hotan prefecture of Xinjiang
Objective:To understand the demand for mental health services among community residents in Hotan Prefecture and explore its influencing factors,in order to provide scientific basis for carrying out mental health serv-ices.Methods:A stratified random sampling method was used to select 1600 community residents from 8 communi-ties in four different counties and cities in Hotan Prefecture as the survey subjects.A self-designed questionnaire ti-tled"Community Residents'Psychological Health Service Needs Questionnaire"was used for the survey.Understand the needs of community residents in terms of service attitude,service content,service methods,service channels,service personnel,and service institutions,and use multiple linear regression analysis to analyze the influencing fac-tors of mental health service needs.Results:The total average demand for mental health services among community residents in Hotan Prefecture was 2.90.86.1%of community residents hoped that the community mental health service center could provide mental health services,and 83.8%of community residents hoped that community mental health service personnel could provide mental health services.Residents living in rural areas scored the highest in terms of their demand for mental health services(F=37.954,P<0.001);Residents with education levels of junior high school or below and high school had higher scores for their demand for mental health services(F=13.260,P<0.001);Residents with monthly income below 2000 yuan and between 2000~3999 yuan had higher scores for their demand for mental health services(F=13.748,P<0.001);Married residents scored higher than unmarried residents in terms of their demand for mental health services(F=3.236,P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that place of residence(town center area),place of residence(town township combination area),place of residence(main urban area),marital status(married),and monthly income level were the main factors affecting residents'de-mand for mental health services.The B value and its 95%CI were-0.170(-0.236~-0.103),-0.429(-0.519~-0.340),-0.336(-0.409~0.263),0.115(0.037~0.192),and-0.051(-0.083~-0.019).Conclusion:The demand for mental health services among community residents in Hotan Prefecture is relatively high,and a large proportion of residents choose community mental health service centers and personnel to provide mental health services.Residents with low educa-tion,low income,rural areas,married individuals have a greater demand for mental health services.Residence,marital status,and monthly income level are the main influencing factors of residents'demand for mental health services.
