Effect of health awareness theory education intervention on disease cognition level and rehabilitation behavior of patients with cerebrovascular disease
Objective:To investigate the effect of health awareness theory education intervention on disease cogni-tion level and rehabilitation behavior of patients with cerebrovascular disease. Methods:One hundred patients with ce-rebrovascular disease admitted to our hospital from April 2019 to April 2022 were selected and divided into a control group(n=50)and a study group(n=50)according to the order of admission. The control group was given conven-tional health interventions and the study group was given educational interventions based on health awareness theory. The two groups were compared in terms of disease awareness, rehabilitation behaviors(rational diet, standardized medication, regular work and rest, aerobic exercise),self-management ability, and quality of life, and the satisfaction of the two groups with the intervention was assessed. Results:Following the intervention, the study group demonstra-ted a significantly better understanding of the disease compared to the control group(Z=4.378,P<0.05).The pro-portions of rational dieting, standardized medication usage, regular work-rest schedules, and participation in aerobic exercise were all noticeably higher in the study group than in the control group(x2=4.336,7.162,7.862,7.484;P<0.05).Furthermore,after the intervention, both groups experienced increases in their self-management ability scores across all dimensions, although the study group showed significantly higher scores in each dimension compared to the control group(t=8.309,5.538,8.141,6.025;P<0.05).After the intervention, the scores of each dimension of the World Health Organization Quality of Living Scale Short Form(WHOQOL-BREF)increased in both groups com-pared to the pre-intervention period, and the scores of each dimension were significantly higher in the study group than in the control group(t=6.529,7.406,12.260;P<0.05);The satisfaction with the intervention in the study group was notably higher compared to the control group(x2=4.332,P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with conven-tional health education, the educational intervention based on health awareness theory has a significant effect on pa-tients with cerebrovascular disease, which can effectively improve patients'disease cognitive level and rehabilitation behavior, enhance patients'self-efficacy and quality of life, and have a high clinical intervention satisfaction.
