Effect of multimedia picture story therapy on cognitive function and emotional state of children with severe brain injury
Objective:To explore the effect of multimedia picture story therapy on cognitive function and emotional state of children with severe brain injury. Methods:A total of 130 children with severe brain injury who were diag-nosed in our hospital from January 2021 to May 2024 were selected as the research objects.According to the results of postoperative examination, nursing mode and the time of admission, the children were divided into two groups:Control group(65 cases)and intervention group(65 cases). After admission, all the children in the two groups were treated with routine brain trauma, and all the selected patients received intervention nursing for 3 weeks. The inter-vention group was treated with multimedia picture story therapy, while the control group was only treated with rou-tine nursing. The cognitive function, emotional state, nursing satisfaction of family members, social support and vari-ous functions of children were compared by using the international general scale and the questionnaire made by our hospital. Results:After the intervention of multimedia picture story therapy, compared with the control group, the cognitive function of children in the intervention group(MMSE score,MoCA score)increased significantly(t=13.026,11.949;P<0.001);Children who received multimedia picture story therapy had higher scores in various functions([Fugl-Meyer Motor Function Scale(FMA),Activity of Daily Living Scale(ADL)and Functional Inde-pendence Assessment Scale(FIM)](t=6.220,9.224,3.661;P<0.001);The emotional state of children in the inter-vention group[self-rating depression scale for children(DSRSC)and anxiety disorder screening scale for children(SCARD)]were significantly lower than those in the control group(t=9.256,6.423;P<0.001);The scores of social support(family support, friend support, other support and total score of PSSS)in the intervention group were signifi-cantly higher than those in the control group(t=5.549,8.051,14.807,9.646;P<0.001);Compared with the control group, the nursing satisfaction of childrens families in the intervention group was significantly improved(x2=4.866,P<0.05).Conclusion:Intervention nursing of multimedia picture story therapy for children with severe brain injury can effectively improve their cognitive function, motor function, daily living ability, emotional state and their families'satisfaction with nursing. This therapy is helpful to correct their physical functions and emotional state, thus impro-ving their rehabilitation quality.
