Effects of positive psychology intervention based on adaptive theory combined with rational emotive behavior therapy in patients with hyperthyroidism
Objective:To explore the effects of positive psychology intervention based on adaptive theory combined with rational emotive behavior therapy(REBT)on psychological health,personality characteristics and coping styles in patients with hyperthyroidism.Methods:A total of 160 patients with hyperthyroidism confirmed in the hospital were enrolled between April 2021 and March 2024.According to different admission time,they were divided into con-trol group(80 cases,routine intervention,April 2021-June 2022)and combination group(80 cases,positive psychol-ogy intervention based on adaptation theory on basis of control group,July 2022-March 2024).All patients were in-tervened for 8 weeks.The psychological health[Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA),Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)],mental symptoms[symptom check list-90(SCL-90)],personality traits[Eysenck Personality Ques-tionnaire-Revised,Short Scale For Chinese(EPQ-RSC)],coping styles(simplified coping style questionnaire)and quality of life[the 36-item shot-form health status survey(SF-36)]in the two groups were compared before and after intervention.Results:After intervention,scores of HAMA,HAMD,SCL-90 and EPQ-RSC in combination group were lower than those in control group,and scores of simplified coping style questionnaire and SF-36 were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Positive psychology intervention based on adaptive theory combined with REBT can improve psychological health,reduce personality traits tendency,improve positive coping styles and quality of life.
