Objective To analyze the prognosis and related factors influencing patients with Type A aortic dissection from the perspective of blood transfusion, providing clinical references. Methods The clinical data of 199 patients who underwent type A surgery for aortic coarctation were retrospectively analysed.Univariate analysis and multifactorial logistic regression were used to analyse the factors associated with the patients'poor prognosis. Results Out of the 199 patients diagnosed with aortic coarctation type A,159 had a good prognosis, while 40 had a poor prognosis, resulting in a proportion of 20.1%of patients with a poor prognosis.According to the univariate analysis, the poor prognosis of patients with aortic coarctation type A was associated with the quantity of perioperative red blood cell transfusion, the amount of perioperative platelet transfusion, and the length of hospital stay(all P<0.05).A multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that the amount of perioperative red blood cell transfusion was an independent risk factor for poor patient prognosis(P<0.001).Additionally,the number of days spent in the hospital was found to be an independent protective factor for poor patient prognosis(P<0.001).Conclusions Transfusing excessive red blood cells during perioperative care increases the risk of poor prognosis in patients with aortic coarctation type A.Prolonging the length of hospital stay can be an effective measure to avoid poor prognosis.
