The mechanism of bad parenting style affecting the mental health of children and adolescents from the perspective of self-correlation theory
Modern psychological research confirms that parenting style is an important factor affecting the mental health of children and adolescents. The period of childhood and adolescence is the key stage of individual self-awareness development.Based on self-related theories, this paper analyzes the mechanisms by which poor parenting practices affect the mental health issues of children and adolescents. It is proposed that in family education, parents should focus on accepting and tolerating their children, reducing adverse control methods, and fostering children's sense of self-determination.This approach helps children develop a positive self-concept,self-esteem,and self-efficacy,guiding them to continuously accept and improve themselves, thereby fundamentally preventing the emergence of psychological and behavioral problems.
