Objective To investigate the reliability and authenticity of the Chinese version of gains associated with care giving scale(GAC),provide effective evaluation tools for exploring the emotional experiences of elderly dementia caregivers in China.Method The English version of the GAC scale was systematically translated and evaluated, and the Chinese version of the GAC was used to measure 192 caregivers of dementia patients. The reliability and validity of the measurement results were analyzed.Result The Cronbach's α coefficient of the Chinese version of the GAC scale is 0.970,Spearman Brown is 0.953,and the Pearson correlation coefficient of test-retest reliability is 0.896(P<0.01);One common factor was obtained through principal component analysis, and the loadings of each factor were greater than 0.4,explaining 63.60%of the variance. The goodness of fit indices of the AMOS 17.0 model were relative chi square values is 2.786,Tucker Lewis index is 0.885,comparative fitting index is 0.906,and root mean square of approximation error is 0.057.Conclusions The Chinese version of the GAC scale has good reliability and validity, and can be used as a tool for evaluating the benefits of caregivers for dementia patients in China.
