Against the backdrop of the construction of the new liberal arts,the design profession has broken through traditional thinking patterns,continuously strengthened its professional foundation,and expanded the boundaries of the discipline.Taking Anhui University of Arts as an example,this study explores the introduction of thematic"design foundation"courses and the associated teaching reform under the context of the new liberal arts.The aim is to promote the development of the disci-pline and cultivate students'creative abilities.By adjusting teaching methods,course structures,and practical components,the study endeavors to explore a design education model that meets the re-quirements of the new liberal arts.Additionally,it provides insights into the innovation of design foundation teaching.
