Starting from the theory of total factor productivity measurement,based on panel data from 30 provinces and cities in China from 2003 to 2020,this study uses a combination of stochastic frontier model and intermediate variable method to explore the impact and mechanism of new infrastructure on high-quality economic development.The results show that new infrastructure investment has a promoting effect on high-quality economic development,and its main promotion role comes from information infrastructure.At present,China's high-quality development efficiency is showing a steady upward trend as a whole.New infrastructure investment can indirectly promote high-quality economic development through two channels:technological progress and consumption upgrading.
