Test on Plant Height and Ear Height of Maize Using Genetic Models
The inheritance of plant height and ear height of maize was tested by using genetic models, with augmented NC II design. The results showed that the inheritance of plant height of maize was not in accordance with additive-dominant genetic models and had significantly dominant and epistatic effects. He inheritance of ear height corresponded to additive-dominant genetic models. For plant height there was significant difference on the distribution of frequency of additive and reducing alleles between female and male parents. But for ear height the difference was not significant. The inheritance of plant was characterized as overdominance; while that of ear height was characterized as partial dominance with recessive additive allele.
