Determination of Insecticidal Activity of Hosta ventricosa Flowers Ex-tracts against Plutella xylostella and Analysis of Their Chemical Com-ponents
In this study, five kinds of extracts obtained from the flowers of Hosta ventricosa were mea-sured for insecticidal activity against Plutella xylostella, and the chemical components of the extracts with insecticidal activity were analyzed. The results showed that the n-butanol extract had the best biological activity against P.xylostella.The biological activity of chloroform extract was second, and the biological activities of petroleum ether extract, ethyl acetate extract and water extract were weak. The antifeedant activity reached 98%at a concentration of 250 mg/L after 12 hours of treatment, the contact activity was 83.33%after 24 hours of treatment, the fumigation activity and stomach poison-ing were 53.63%and 57.78%after 48 hours of treatment. The repellent activity reached 90.48%at the same concentration.Twenty-eight chemical components were identified from the n-butanol ex-tract through GC-MS analysis, and the main components were palmitic acid(17.189%),linoleic acid(10.041%),linolenic acid(8.53%),butyl butyrate(8.641%),and butyl palmitate(4.56%).
