Effects of Ethyl Sulfide Nitrogen on Physicochemical Properties and Copper and Zinc Passivation Effect of Chicken Manure Compost
To study the effects of adding time and proportion of ethyl sulfide nitrogen on physico-chemical properties and Cu and Zn activities of chicken manure before and after composting,com-posting experiments were carried out using chicken manure and corn stalk as raw materials, and ethyl sulfide nitrogen as additive. The changes in heavy metal activity before and after composting were analyzed by an improved BCR continuous extraction method. The results showed that the high-est temperature of the compost in each treatment group of ethyl sulfide nitrogen exceeded 60 ℃,all lasting for more than 3 days; The composting temperature showed a trend of rising sharply in the ini-tial stage and then falling slowly.During the composting process,pH value first increased, then de-creased slightly, and finally stabilized. At the end of the composting process,pH value was basically between 8-9,and C/N ratio of each compost was in the range of 16-17.Different addition time and ratios of ethyl sulfide nitrogen had no significant effect on physical and chemical properties of the compost. At the same addition ratio, the passivation effect of adding ethyl sulfide nitrogen on heavy metals Cu and Zn on the 21st day of composting was better than that of adding ethyl sulfide nitrogen at other time.Compared with the ck,the passivation ability of heavy metal Cu in the T1~T8 groups with the addition of ethyl sulfide nitrogen increased by 3.03%-24.17%and the passivation ability of heavy metal Zn increased by 2.36%-15.21%.Adding 0.20%(the amount of dry matter in the com-post)of ethyl sulfide nitrogen on the 21st day of composting was more beneficial to improving the pas-sivation effect of chicken manure compost on Cu and Zn.
