Changes in Key Enzyme Activities of Root Nitrogen Metabolism in Soybean Varieties Released at Different Ages
In order to explore the change rule of key enzyme activities in nitrogen metabolism of roots and its correlation with yields of soybean varieties,we used eighteen soybean varieties bred in Jilin province over 87 years as experimental materials, and measured the key enzyme activities of ni-trogen metabolism in roots of soybean varieties in different ages. The results indicated:at the whole growth stages, the activities of nitrate reductase(NR),glutamine synthetase(GS)and glutamate syn-thase(GOGAT)in roots of recent varieties were higher than those of mid-term and early varieties, which showed linear increase with the advancement of the years of release. The NR activities were positively correlated with the yields at V4 and R2 stages(r=0.513*,0.615**),and the GS activities were positively correlated with the yields at V4,R2 and R4 stages(r=0.509*,0.838**,0.845**),the GOGAT activities were positively correlated with the yields at R2 and R4 stages(r=0.624**,0.507*).However,the activities of glutamate dehydrogenase(GDH)of recent varieties were lower than those of mid-term and early varieties, which showed linear decrease with the advancement of the years of release. With the genetic improvement of soybean varieties, the activities of NR,GS,and GOGAT in roots gradually increased, which might improve the efficiency of nitrogen assimilation and utilization in roots and had obvious effect on increasing yield of soybean.
