Inhibitory Effect of Canthin-6-one Isolated from Ailanthus altissima against Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cucumerinum
The purpose of this study is to explore the application prospects of canthin-6-one iso-lated from Ailanthus altissima in controlling plant diseases.Micro-well dilution, mycelial growth rate and spore germination test were used to evaluate the inhibitory effect of canthin-6-one on Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cucumerinum.The anti-fungal mechanism of canthin-6-one was analyzed by detect-ing the relative conductivity, the content of MDA and H2O2,and the activity of protective enzymes. The results showed that canthin-6-one exhibited excellent competences for suppressing the growth of the pathogens with the MIC of 32 μg/mL.This compound could obviously inhibit the growth of pathogenic mycelium and spore germination, and the EC50 value was 4.2 μg/mL and 14.6 μg/mL,re-spectively.In addition, the content of MDA and H2O2 increased significantly after treatment with can-thin-6-one,which disturbed the dynamic balance. The integrity of the membrane system was dam-aged,resulting in inhibition of mycelial growth.
