Effects of Microplastics on Phosphorus Leaching Process in Mollisols under Simulated Rainstorm Extreme Weather
Water stagnancy on soil surface will occur when heavy rainfall occurs in extreme weather, and it is easy to occur in soil material downward migration.Microplastics(MP)can change the physi-cal and chemical properties of soil, which in turn affects soil nutrient leaching. In this study,molli-sols was used as the research object, and the method of soil column leaching simulation with constant water head was used to study the effects of different types of MP(PE,polyethylene;PS,and polysty-rene)on phosphorus in mollisols. The effect mechanism of different MP contents(0,0.5%,1%,2%and 3%),particle size(0.15-0.36 mm,0.36-0.60 mm and 0.60-1.00 mm),types and different soil or-ganic matter(SOM)contents on soil phosphorus leaching was analyzed. The results showed that the effect of 1%PE concent addition on the leaching loss of water-soluble phosphorus was characterized by"pore effect",while the effect of PE addition at other contents(0.5%,2%and 3%)on water-soluble phosphorus leaching was characterized by"adsorption effect".Under the same conditions,PS was more likely to cause phosphorus leaching in soil than PE.The lower the soil SOM content was,the greater the loss of water soluble phosphorus leaching in the soil under the effect of PE.Therefore, the addition of MP can affect the amount of phosphorus leaching in soil, and content, particle size and type of MP all have an impact on water-soluble phosphorus leaching. The research results pro-vide a reference for promoting meteorological research related to mollisols protection, theoretical ba-sis and technical support for MP pollution control and its impact on nutrient transport in soil.
