A Study on the Cultivation of Translation Ability for College English Major Students from the Perspective of Functional Translation Theory
In the context of the new era,global cultural exchanges are becoming increasingly frequent.In order to become qualified translators for English major students in universities,they not only need to have bilingual and encyclopedic knowledge abilities,but also need to have good translation strategies and techniques.In the face of the shortcomings of traditional translation teaching models in universities,it is urgent to innovate the existing teaching concepts and models in order to enhance students'core translation literacy and effectively cultivate their translation abilities.Based on the perspective of functional translation theory,this paper analyzes the principles followed in the reform of translation teaching for English majors in universities,and finally proposes corresponding practical strategies,aiming at promoting the improvement of translation teaching quality for English major in universities.
