Optimization of Extraction Process and in vitro Antimicrobial Activity of Huangshan Maofeng Tea Polyphenols
Huangshan Maofeng tea was used as the raw material, and tea polyphenols were extracted using an ultrasound-assisted ethanol extraction method.Based on single-factor experiments, the extraction process was optimized through orthogonal experiments, and the antimicrobial activity of the tea polyphenols against Shigella was evaluated using antimicrobial susceptibility tests. The results showed that the optimal extraction conditions for Huangshan Maofeng tea polyphenols were 55%ethanol mass concentration,solid-liquid ratio of 1∶35 g·mL-1,130 ultrasound cycles, and an extraction temperature of 65 ℃.Under these conditions, the extraction yield of Huangshan Maofeng tea polyphenols was 17.22%.Antimicrobial susceptibility tests revealed that the diameter of the inhibition zone for Shigella was 9.6±0.8 mm under the optimal conditions. This study provides a reference for the extraction of tea polyphenols and their antimicrobial activity evaluation.
