Using the 1950s as a starting point,delving into China's valuable practical experience in sports diplomacy,and explo-ring the inheritance and innovative momentum from history can provide an acceleration for high-quality development in the new era.Research suggests that the initial exploration stage of China's sports diplomacy is characterized by distinct features and has formed a comprehensive effect with domestic construction:1)Learning sports experience and establishing external relations,2)Perfecting sports organizations and cultivating specialized talents,3)Consolidating sports relationships and showcasing national image,4)Expanding sports exchanges and taking on international responsibilities.Under the guidance of the country's foreign strategy and peaceful diplomatic policy,China's sports diplomacy,the"Ship of Peace,"sets sail globally,consolidating friendly relations with Eastern European socialist countries,and through flexible and diverse people-to-people sports diplomacy,gradu-ally easing tensions with capitalist countries.In this process,China's sports diplomacy has achieved fruitful results,promoting the integration of inheritance and reference,broadening the interconnection between international and domestic realms,enriching the communication between official and civil sectors,and achieving mutual benefits between foreign policy and domestic affairs.In the future,we must unwaveringly follow the path of peaceful development,promote characteristic sports diplomacy,accelerate the building of a strong sports nation,popularize folk sports diplomacy,deepen public sports exchanges,and comprehensively create a new situation for China's major-country diplomacy with distinctive features.
