Experimental Research on the Influence of Martial arts Intervention on Senior High School Students'Mental Health:the Chained Mediation of Sense of Meaning in Life And Psychological Resilience
Objective:The purpose of this study was to explore the sense of meaning in life,psychological resilience and mental health of senior high school students through the 10-week intervention of martial arts.It also further examines the chained media-tion effect between the sense of meaning in life and psychological resilience.Methods:A total of 392 students from three grades of a senior high school in Guangzhou were selected as the experimental subjects.They were divided into experimental group and con-trol group.The experimental group participated in a 10-week martial arts intervention,while the control group participated in regular extra-curricular sports.Sense of meaning in life scale,psychological resilience scale and mental health scale were used before and after the experiment evaluate.Results:(1)The sense of meaning in life,psychological resilience and mental health of the experimental group were significant after the experiment.It was higher than that in pre-test(P<0.05),but no significant difference in control group(P>0.05).In time main effect,interaction effect of time and group were also significant differences(P<0.05);(2)The sense of meaning in life and psychological resilience respectively played a partial mediating role(95%CI=[0.025,0.069];95%CI=[0.036,0.172])between martial arts and mental health;(3)Sense of meaning in life and psy-chological resilience had a chained mediation effect between martial arts and mental health(95%CI=[0.045,0.067]).Con-clusion:It is helpful to improve the mental health level of senior high school students,promoting the development of school health integration,and to realize the health through sports.
