Geographical Elements in the Artworks of Northeast Pictorial from the Perspective of Artistic Geography
As a key platform for propaganda during the Northeast Liberation War,Northeast Pictorial published artworks created by Yan'an artists who had relocated to the region. These artists combined Yan'an's artistic philosophies and paradigms with the geographical and cultural characteristics of Northeast China, adhering to the spirit of Talks at the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art.The artworks depict geographical elements such as the natural landscapes of Baishan and Heishui, the cultural geography of local customs, and the early industrial and urban landscapes. These elements symbolized the grandeur of the Northeast's mountains and rivers, the resilient spirit of resistance, the emerging new society, and the enthusiasm of the people contributing to national construction despite harsh natural conditions.Vivid character portrayals and grand depictions of the era crafted a historical image of the Northeast people.Examining these geographical elements provides a theoretical foundation for constructing regional culture, offers valuable resources for exploring the cultural legacy and artistic development of Northeast China, and supports further research into the region's red art movement.
