In recent years,with the expansion of graduate enrollment,graduate education faces many new prob-lems.The improvement of the quality and ability of graduate students,affect the discipline construction,talent cul-tivation,and scientific research of local university.Takes Jimei University as an example,based on the problem o-rientation in the process of cultivating graduate students in local university.Firstly,the ability requirements for graduate education,evaluation and assessment of the training process,and the quality standards for academic dis-sertations and other aspects have been optimized.Secondly,the construction of the quality system for graduate dis-sertation at the school and supervisory have been improved,the reform of graduate classification training mode have been promoted,and a systematic process supervision and quality improvement plan for the entire postgraduate have been implemented.Finally,the high-level talents with outstanding research and innovation ability(academic de-gree)or creative abilities(professional degrees)have been cultivated in the local university.
