On the Dimensions of Moral Education and Value Orientation of Educational Discipline
Educational discipline is essentially a action of moral education,which includes two dimensions:"moral heteronomy" and " moral autonomy",both of which jointly promote students'moral development.Among them," moral heteronomy" relies on external " rule forces" and corrects students'mistakes through " obeying rules";" moral autonomy" relies on internal " conscious powers" and promotes students'development through "cultivating virtues".In terms of moral value," obeying rules" demonstrates the instrumental nature of educational discipline,while " cultivating virtues" highlights the purposeful nature of educational discipline.In order to im-plement the fundamental task of" molding high morals and cultivating talents based on people orientation" in Chi-na,we should highlight" students'cultivation of virtues" instead of" students'obedience to rules" in the imple-mentation of educational discipline.To achieve this value shift,it is necessary to deepen students'awareness and understanding of moral ethics and behavioral norms in educational discipline,help them generate spiritual pleasure and emotional identification in moral goodness and appropriate words and actions,and ultimately encourage them to consciously practice virtues such as compliance with laws and responsibilities.
