Second language teaching is a promising research field in Interactional Linguistics.This paper briefly expounds the theoretical basis of applying Interactional Linguistics to teaching Chinese as a second language,and proposes the practical de-sign for the latter from the interactional perspective combined with existing research.In general,there are three important the-oretical foundations for the application of Interactional Linguistics to teaching Chinese as a second language,namely speech in-teraction as the home environment of second language development,interactional competence as the ultimate goal of second language acquisition,and action expressions as the core element of interactional competence of second language.On this ba-sis,this paper puts forward four basic ideas for the practice of teaching Chinese as a second language:developing real and natural Chinese teaching materials,creating an interactional context for communication,using teaching strategies based on in-teraction in classroom teaching and developing multimodal teaching resources.
