To create the smart course"Advanced Writing"in international Chinese language teaching,this paper attempts to design the knowledge graph of the course,dividing the course knowledge into two categories:"essential knowledge"that learners should master and"desirable knowledge"that they want to learn.The"essential knowledge"is selected by reviewing materials such as Grading Standards,academic publications,and classic textbooks.Then,the"desirable knowledge"is de-termined through investigating and analyzing the needs of 150 learners of Chinese.Finally,based on these two categories,the basic concepts of the knowledge graph are determined,and the paper uses the Protégé tool to construct the ontology of the graph,hoping to support the scientific development and on-demand recommendation of smart courses.
