Modal particles are one of the main means of expressing emotions and attitudes, and have important research val-ue.This study focuses on the emerging modal particle ye(耶)at the end of a sentence.Through research methods of corpus, genre distribution,co-occurrence words, and minimum opposition equivalence,it is found that ye is clearly a positive emo-tional marker used to convey the communicative subject's relaxed, lively, playful, and joyful affective stance. It has a dis-course function of rapport maintenance in negative contexts and a discourse function of rapport enhancement in positive con-texts.On this basis,we further analyzed the motivation for expressing the stance of ye from two aspects:the distribution char-acteristics of context and the symbiotic relationship with the interjective ye(耶),providing reference for the analysis of emerging modal particles in the future.
