The social security discipline,which focuses on the protection of people's livelihoods and well-being,emerged alongside the development of China's social security system.As an applied social science,it draws upon fundamental theories and methodologies from core disciplines such as sociology,economics,political science and management,integrating them with China's specific context,culture,and social structure.This integration has led to the initial formation of certain value concepts and research paradigms,reflecting a unique Chinese discourse within the country's social security knowledge system.However,compared to relatively mature foundational social sciences,the social security discipline,as an applied field,remains underdeveloped,particularly in terms of theoreti-cal construction rooted in China's unique social context and the practice of its social security system.Given China's distinctive social structure and cultural traditions,this paper attempts to construct a trinity social security theory com-prising adaptive selection theory,cooperative income theory and cooperative sharing theory,which addresses the dy-namic,occurrence and distribution mechanisms of people's livelihoods and well-being.The aim is to enhance and re-fine the independent knowledge system of the social security discipline in China while fostering the development and prosperity of its foundational theories.
