Textual Research of Nanwang River Affairs Managed by the Ministry of Works of the Ming Dynasty
Institutional culture is an important part of the Grand Canal World Heritage.As one of the central administrative departments in charge of river transportation in Ming Dynasty,the Ministry of Works occupies a core position in the management system of Grand Canal and Nanwang Hub.In addition to sending Shangshu and chamberlances to Nanwang to directly participate in the repair and management of rivers and lakes as imperial officers or general river officers,the Ministry of Works of the Ming Dynasty also sent Dushuisi(a sub-department)Langzhong to establish the North River Division to manage the affairs of Nanwang River;as the direct management department of Nanwang Hub,Dushuisi executive was stationed in Ningyang,Jining,Nanwang,Gutou and other places,to be in charge of Nanwang sluice affairs.The Ming Dynasty"General River Management and Administration"still belongs to the river management system of the Ministry of Works.
