Objective To understand the current situation of nursing and patient communication skills and profes-sional identity of nursing undergraduates,and to explore the correlation between the two.Methods From June 2022 to July 2022,the third-year nursing students from five public undergraduate colleges in Fujian Province were selected as the survey objects,and the nurses' professional identity rating scale and the nurse-patient language and social communication questionnaire were used to conduct the survey.Results A total of 509 undergraduate nursing students scored 116.00(105,124)points on the Language and Social Communication Questionnaire and 116.00(103,123)points for occupa-tional identity.There was a significant positive correlation between the dimensions and the total score of nurse-patient communication ability and professional identity(P＜0.001).The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that occupational social support and occupational social skills were the influencing factors of nurse-patient communication ability.Conclusion Nursing students' sense of professional identity is at a medium level,and their communication skills are good.The higher the sense of professional identity,the higher the communication ability between nurses and patients.It is suggested that nursing educators should take targeted interventions to increase nursing students' sense of professional identity and improve their nurse-patient communication skills.
