A case of adenoid cystic carcinoma of the esophagus and literature review
Adenoid cystic carcinoma(ACC)is extremely rare in the esophagus.A 78-year-old male patient was reported.The preoperative diagnosis of ACC was not clear,postoperative pathology showed adenoid cystic carcinoma of the esophagus with invasion of the muscularis and lymph nodes are not involved.The patients were discharged 13 days after the operation and were followed up for 6 months without recurrence or metastasis.In addition,32 Chinese patients with esophageal ACC were reviewed and the general characteristics,clinical manifestations,diagnosis,treatment,and prognosis of these patients were further understood.
