Research progress of mitochondrial Sirtuins involved in Alzheimer's disease
Alzheimer's disease(AD)is a chronic progressive degenerative disease of the central nervous system, and is the most common form of dementia in the elderly.AD is a complex heterogeneous disease, and its pathogenesis involves multiple factors, including genetic factors, neurotransmitter factors, immune factors and environmental factors. The role of Sirtuin family proteins in AD has attracted increasing attention. The Sirtuin family regulates many important links in the progression of AD.Although a large number of studies have focused on the important role of Sirtuin1 and 2 in AD and other neurodegenerative diseases, there are relatively few studies on mitochondrial Sirtuin3,4,5.This article will review the research progress of mitochondrial Sirtuin family proteins in the pathogenesis of AD,which is of great significance for elucidating the occurrence and development mechanism of AD and the prevention and treatment of AD.
