Effects of Morinda officinalis and exercise on the repair of sciatic nerve injury in mice
Objective To study the effect of Morinda officinalis and exercise on the recovery of divine func-tion in mice with sciatic nerve injury.Methods Establish a model of sciatic nerve injury in mice,with 80 mice ran-domly divided into control group without exercise,control group with exercise,group without exercise of Morinda of-ficinalis,and group with combined exercise of Morinda officinalis,with 20 mice in each group.The Morinda officina-lis group was gavaged with Morinda officinalis aqueous extract at 0.1 ml/10 g per day,and the control group was ga-vaged with saline at 0.1 ml/10 g per day,and after acclimatization feeding for 5 d,the mice of the control exercise group and the Morinda officinalis exercise group were trained to run on the animal running platform after half an hour of gavage,1 time/d for 28 consecutive days.By observing the neuronal changes and the number of neuroglial cells,detecting the serum malondialdehyde(MDA)content and superoxide dismutase(SOD)vitality value of mice,sciat-ic nerve function index,gastrocnemius muscle wet weight,etco,to observe the recovery of sciatic nerve function by Morinda officinalis and exercise.Results There were neuronal condensation and fragmentation in all groups,and the number of Nissl was reduced,but neuronal condensation and fragmentation were significantly reduced and the number of neuroglia was significantly increased in the bacopausal exercise group.The results of gastrocnemius wet weight showed a statistically significant difference(P<0.01)between the control group compared to bacopausal exer-cise.The results of sciatic nerve function index showed that the difference between the control group and bacopa mon-nieri exercise was statistically significant(P<0.01)at 21 days,the difference between bacopa monnieri exercise and bacopa monnieri non-exercise was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the difference between the control non-exer-cise and bacopa monnieri group at 28 days was statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of the MDA content as-say showed that the difference between the control group and bacopa monnieri exercise was statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The SOD vitality value assay showed that the control exercise was statistically significant(P<0.01)compared to the Morinda officinalis group.Conclusion Morinda offi-cinalis can helps the recovery of sciatic nerve injury in mice,and the combination of morinda officinalis and exercise has better recovery effect.
