Research on the Impact of Dual Circulation on High-quality Economic Development:Empirical Evidence from Cities in the Core Area of the Silk Road Economic Belt
As the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt,Xinjiang not only has the geographical advantage of connecting the five provinces in Northwest China and eight countries in Europe and Asia,but also has two international and domestic markets and two kinds of resources.How to give full play to the role of the double cycle in promoting high-quality economic development in the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt is an urgent practical problem that needs to be solved today.Based on the panel data of 14 prefecture-level cities in the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt from 2013 to 2022,this paper finds that:the high-quality economic development level of the core area continues to improve,showing a fluctuating growth trend;The double cycle can significantly promote the level of high-quality economic development;Heterogeneity analysis shows that the effect of inner cycle on high-quality economic development was"North Xinjiang＞South Xinjiang",while the effect of outer cycle and double cycle is"North Xinjiang is significant,south Xinjiang is not significant".Mechanism analysis shows that internal circulation can indirectly promote the development of high-quality economic development by promoting the development of external circulation;The external cycle can also promote the development of the internal cycle,thereby indirectly promoting the improvement of high-quality economic development.This study provides a theoretical basis for enhancing the linkage between internal and external circulation,unblocking the path of"double circulation-high-quality economic development",and provides a basis for the autonomous region government to implement accurate policies.
