In China, science popularization talents training has laid a certain foundation, but the overall development is relatively slow, and the relevant research is also insufficient. This paper focuses on the key training projects of popular science popularization personnel in China. On the basis of a systematic and comprehensive analysis of its development status, the CIPP evaluation model uses four aspects of background, input, process and results for in-depth training cases of typical grassroots science popularization talents in western China.Further integration analysis obtains the research conclusions, summarizes the existing problems, and puts forward the innovative development strategies. The results show that China's training of science popularization personnel in China has established a regular working system and mechanism, formed a relatively stable basic mode, and gradually moved towards standardization, which has been widely welcomed by popular science workers, local science and technology associations and relevant institutions. However, there are still many problems, such as lack of training supply and a perfect training standard system, lack of continuous care for the career development of students, imbalance of training content, and lack of practical training process.Four suggestions have been put forward for regarding the issue:Firstly, establish a guarantee system and standard system for the training of science popularization personnel to enhance their leading and guiding roles.Secondly, strengthen top-level design and guidance, and construct a normalized and standardized training system mechanism for science popularization personnel.Thirdly, grasping the actual needs and characteristics of trainees, and balancing the training content and methods.Fourthly, implementing key projects for the training of science popularization personnel in the new era to provide support for the sustainable and healthy development of training.
