Enhancing the resilience of the agricultural economy is an important measure to uphold the basic principles of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, and the effective play of the risk protec-tion function of agricultural insurance is inherently compatible with the resilience of the agricultural economy.Using the pilot program of complete cost insurance and income insurance policies in China as a quasi natural experiment, and based on data from 420 major grain producing counties in China from 2012 to 2020,a difference-in-difference model is used to analyze the effects of improving agri-cultural insurance coverage on agricultural economic resilience.Research has found that improving the level of agricultural insurance protection can significantly promote the resilience of the agricul-tural economy, and the degree of digitization can significantly positively regulate the level of agricul-tural insurance protection to promote the resilience of the agricultural economy.Heterogeneity test-ing shows that compared to regions with larger grain planting scales, the improvement of agricultural insurance coverage in regions with smaller grain planting scales has a stronger promoting effect on agricultural economic resilience.Compared to full cost insurance, income insurance has a stronger effect on enhancing agricultural economic resilience.
