Taking the construction of China's social credit system as the natural experiment,selects the data of China's leading agricultural enterprises from 2013 to 2021,and examines the influence and mechanism of the improvement of social credit environment on the violations of leading agricul-tural enterprises.The findings are as follows:First,the improvement of social credit environment sig-nificantly inhibits the violations of leading agricultural enterprises,and this conclusion is still valid after several robustness tests;Second,this inhibitory effect is more obvious for leading agricultural enterprises with better operation,leading agricultural enterprises in regions with lower marketization degree and leading agricultural enterprises with larger scale;Third,the improvement of the social credit environment effectively inhibits the violations of leading agricultural enterprises by alleviating the financing constraints.The conclusion of the study provides some enlightenment for further im-proving the social credit environment to restrain the violations of agriculture-related enterprises.
