RESEARCH ADVANCES ON THE TRANSCRIPTOME OF MOSQUITOES
Transcriptomics, as the first developed and widely used second-generation sequencing technique, had provided an effective tool for the functional analysis of mosquitoes genes and exploring the potential targets for mosquito control. Currently, the breakthrough progresses have been made in transcriptology on understanding the mosquito molecular basis of blood-sucking, the classification of salivary gland proteins, the mechanism of diapause, digestion and metabolism, and immune mechanism. It will be helpful to deepen the understanding of mosquito biochemical and physiological metabolic pathways and provide theoretical basis for improving the mosquito control effectiveness.
