The study of educational time focuses on conscious reflection on"time"in education and delves into the daily knowl-edge and practices of educational time through"archaeology"and"imagination"as well as"retrospection"and"anticipation".Starting with the concept of educational time,this paper clarifies its two attributes within the contexts of experiential reflection,social change and historical comparison:educational time as an institutional symbolic system and education time as an individual experiential perception.It sorts out the phased characteristics of educational time under classical,modem and late modern social forms and images the possible forms of educational time in the future society.Education should construct flexible educational time taking human development as the scale,alleviate the competitive pressure at the starting point and the time anxiety,break away from the mechanical quantification of time discipline,and ensure that time truly supports individual development and social pro-gress.
