Learning to be old will become an action response to the age of longevity. This paper provides a multi-perspective in-terpretation of the book Learning to Be Old:Gender,Culture, and Aging. It systematically examines the social view of aging, breaks through the traditional role theory of aging, recalls the source of differences in aging and also introduces a new perspective on aging research. The review focuses on the complexity and diversity of female aging and deeply revealing the many challenges and opportunities in the process of female aging. As a non-traditional gerontology work focusing on female aging, this paper pro-poses to understand and make good use of the social construction force beyond biological aging, build a more just, equal and ca-ring aging society and reveal the"black box"of female aging. All these views provide important inspiration and reference for un-derstanding,coping with and studying the real appearance of aging.
